Experience
With over 10 years of experience in the field of psychology, Dr McDarby has worked as a psychologist across a variety of services, including child, adolescent, and adult mental health, neurodivergence, custody and access, among others. Dr McDarby has honed her assessment skills over the years, specialising in neurodevelopmental conditions with a particular focus on Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in both children and adults.
Dr McDarby’s professional journey includes valuable experience within the Health Service Executive (HSE) as a Clinical Psychologist and at Temple Street Children’s Hospital. She held a Clinical Psychologist post at the Beacon Hospital, where she specialised in the holistic assessment and treatment of children and adolescents experiencing a wide range of psychological issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, panic, stress, and eating disorders. It was during this time that Dr McDarby further specialised in neurodevelopmental conditions.
In addition to her neuropsychological assessment skills, Dr McDarby has extensive training and experience working with parents. She is a qualified facilitator of the Circle of Security program, a relationship-based early intervention programme designed to enhance attachment security between parents and children. This training has equipped her with the skills to support parents in building stronger, more secure relationships with their children.
