Experience

Laura has worked in clinical practice for 15 years and has provided guest lecturing input on assessment to the TCD Doctorate in Counselling Psychology over the past 3 years. She has experience in primary care-level, mental health, forensic and disability services with people across the lifespan. Laura initially worked post-training with children in care with and without neurodevelopmental disorders. Here, she honed her skills in assessment and formulation of complex cases and the interplay between neurodevelopmental and environmental factors. She later worked in adult disability services for 5 years, providing psychological input to people with mental health difficulties and intellectual disability. Laura’s clinical focus was on equality in accessing appropriate, evidence-informed psychological supports in disability services. Currently, she works in older adult mental health services in the HSE. Her interests are firmly grounded in ensuring timely access to thorough and tailored psychological assessment and evidence-based interventions.
