Dr Louise Griffen

Louise is a Chartered Counselling Psychologist with the Psychological Society of Ireland, with extensive experience working across Adult Mental Health services within the HSE, as well as Child and Adolescent Mental Health and Primary Care settings. She specialises in psychological assessment and evidence-based approaches, supporting individuals with a range of difficulties including anxiety, depression (unipolar and bipolar), emotion dysregulation, trauma-related difficulties, adjustment difficulties, ADHD, OCD, and personality patterns. She delivers structured, gold-standard assessments and providing clear, practical recommendations for individuals and families.

Experience

Alongside her clinical work, Louise has contributed to service development initiatives, including the introduction of group-based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for adolescents and Emotion Regulation groups for parents in the Kildare West Wicklow region, aimed at improving access to early, effective support. She also lectures with Trinity College Dublin, where she teaches Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to doctoral trainees.

Her approach is collaborative, compassionate, and formulation-driven, with a focus on helping clients and families make sense of their experiences and move toward meaningful change.
